Harry Reid Does Not Accept Invitation For Dinner With Queen Elizabeth

I've been meaning to blog about this for a couple of days. Harry Reid skipped dinner at the White House with the Queen of England. Many will proclaim that Reid missing dinner with the queen is no big deal, but clearly it was a big deal.

The NY Times wrote about a possible "international incident" because Bush Sr. wasn't in attendence, and even Nancy Pelosi showed up.

When asked about Reid's declining his invitation to white collar affair his spokesman said:

"Senator Reid isn’t much of a white-tail-at-dinner kind of a guy."

The LA Times added to that quote with:

"He would just as soon spend a nice quiet dinner with his wife."

It sounds sweet and all, but Reid is the majority leader in the most powerful house of our congress. I guess Reid couldn't be bothered with diplomacy because it didn't fit his style.
