Convicted Terrorist Gets 9 Months

Australian David Hicks was facing 20 years, but struck a plea deal that capped his sentence at 7 years. However, there was a secret plea deal that finally resulted in Hicks getting 9 months ... yes 9 months for being a terrorist against the United States.

To top it all off ... he will serve his sentence in Australia, not in the US.

Intense lobbying by Australia, including by Prime Minister John Howard, appears to have been a key factor in the U.S. decision to make Hicks the first detainee to go before war-crimes tribunals authorized in October by U.S. President George W. Bush, and the agreement to return Hicks to Australia.

We used to kill enemies of this country, and Australia has seriously disappointed me.
