Teacher Convicted In Porn Malware Case Was Not Allowed To Turn Off Computer

This is an update about Julie Amero ... the teacher facing 40 years for pornographic pop-ups on her computer in class. Read more about the case here.

It now seems she was told not to turn the computer off.

Amero, who calls pornography exploitative, says she was under strict orders not to shut the computer off. "I did everything I possibly could to keep them from seeing anything," she said.

Even the principal admitted the computer wasn't protected against malware because they didn't pay a bill.

Principal Scott Fain, who said he was surprised Amero was prosecuted, said the computer lacked the latest firewall protection because a vendor's bill went unpaid.
