Iraqi Oil Workers To Go On Strike

In yet another defiant display of freedom the Iraqi oil union (Iraq Federation of Oil Unions) is going on strike to protest the draft oil law.

UPI:

"The central government must be in total ownership and complete control of production and the export of oil," said Imad Abdul-Hussain, federation deputy chair of the Iraq Federation of Oil Unions, in a statement released Tuesday. The union represents more than 26,000 workers.

The union has come out against production-sharing agreements with foreign investors because they are afraid of too much foreign ownership.

As an added bonus the Iraqi union has taken a page out of the American union's playbook.

The unions also want a stepped up salary structure and land to build homes for workers.

Let freedom ring folks ... let freedom ring.
